The Boys First Movie

          The Boys First Movie!

The poor kid was mesmerized upon first laying eyes on the house sized silver screen. Through the previews, the rad Pixar Short, and even the stupid advertisements, he was completely and utterly enthralled. He didn’t take his hands out of his large popcorn bowl until half way through Toy Story 3. The boy has never eaten so much popcorn in one sitting. And at home he gets plain. He was in movie popcorn bliss. Of course, he will never remember his first movie being merely 25 months old. But, he will have the photos.

Although, the dam ticket collector saw me wielding my camera and called the manager straight away. Asshole. He also said, “Sorry sir, but our policy states that jibber jabber gibberish crap something or other.” I’m not really sure because after he told me I couldn’t bring the camera in the theatre I stopped listening to him. I convinced the manager that my backpack was the boys diaper bag. But they forced me to take the camera back to the car. And damnit, I wanted a photo of the boy sitting in the theatre stuffing his gullet with popcorn. Next time I will smuggle it in, buried in my undies.

So I am curious did he like the movie? or did he find it scary? My sisters son is 5 and he loves toy storey but this new version was a little scary for him.

Love the photos. What a gorgous boy!

So how'd you hold up at the end, with the scene between Andy, Bonnie, and the toys? Let's just say I'm glad I was wearing the 3-D glasses to hide my eyes...

Hands, yeah the Barbies were good. And all the middle aged women in the theatre were cackling everytime they were on screen

SM, he loved it! His eyes were transfixed to the screen from start to finish. He goes nuts when he sees action scenes. He thinks they’re exciting. I do wonder though how he will react when he’s a year or two older, when he understands more about what he’s seeing.

Well Lilly was bawling up a storm next to me. And yeah, if I didn’t have kids it wouldn’t have had the same effect on me…….but I do so all I could think was, dang look at all that free loot. I want free toys for my boy. :)

He looks so happy on that escalator! Too cute.

BTW have you been watching the new Futurama episodes on Cartoon Network? AWESOME!

Yeah can you believe it, one of the only shows I use to watch is back!
And I'm going to see NewMoon monday morning at the crack of dawn. All my brothers wives are dragging us all. Kicking, and, screaming.

Very cool. Still haven't taken Lukas to his first, or even watched one at home. Perhaps the original would be a good one to start with.

Really! He hasn't even seen a movie at home... Well, actually I sometimes wish I had the emotional willpower to not allow my boy to watch tv.....but alas I am a mere mortal, and damnit it's nice to have a couple hours a day to get stuff done while he vegges out.

Excellent movie. Took my ten year old.

Another one you might try is Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. Fun and has a great father/son storyline. That should be out on DVD by now.

We have been overrun by everything Toy Story. I have seen it twice, and my son has seen it three times (once with Dad, because I couldn't do it again). The real question is...did you cry?

Surfer Jay said...

OF COURSE I CRIED! Hey, you would cry to if your son ate all the popcorn.
