Perilous I Tell You, Perilous

Perilous I Tell You, Perilous

Why Did The Baby Cross The Road!

I know what you're thinking, really I do. But not to worry. I will let you know, that the truck was lifted so high, that it passed right over her, leaving her unscathed and able to get to the other side of the road. Ever see Pet Cemetary? Sure you have. This was inspired by that movie. Not to mention that I fear her running into the street every single day.

Oh, and uh, for all 2 of my adoring fans, if you ever feel so inclined, you could go vote for this photo and a few of my other ones HERE. I am trying to get them published in JPEG magazine. You're rad.

We rented a house at the base of the ski slopes in big bear for a few days. Along the mountain road there are a dozen turnoffs leading to large camp grounds. So we just picked a turnoff, and found this perfect spot for this shot. I have been wanting to get this exact shot for two years, before that girl was even an option. Originally going to do it with the boy, but out popped the girl, so there she is. I had been waiting to find a road such as this, without cars and homes to distract the theme. Finally, finally!

I also did two other Perilous shots inside the rental house. Which are awesome ideas, that turned out to be unusable. I have never fully invested in proper lighting for my camera outift. I have three external flashes, but I have never actually learned how to properly use them. Both of the images were just too dark. I could make them work, but if I were to ever print them out, or simply zoom in on the screen, it is obvious the noise and blurring in the images. And this is due to a lack of light. Lighting is everything when shooting. Particularly while shooting indoors. That is why I rarely do quality posed photos inside, I just don't have the lights to make them work. As in themed photos like the pregnancy ones I did with Lilly.

The two shots that failed were one of the boy holdiong onto Lacey, she hanging upside down falling off the top of a tall spiral staircase. And the other one is of ME, yeah I am actually in one for once, folding laundry, while Lacey was grabbing on the cord of the clothes iron resting on the ironing board. And the iron is light on fire, as if in was left there burning a pair of pants. We actually lit the iron on fire, and it turned out awesome. But the girl is blurry because she was moving. If I had lights, it would have worked. It was so rad too.

A grown man, and I nearly cried. I kid you not, for the first time ever, I nearly, ever so closely, cried because those two shots didn't meet my standards. I was livid for days. So sad, so sad. So I am not going to show the world my shots untill....I retake them. So I vowed to master lighting because of that trajedy. I pulled out my flashes and read the manuals. And Lilly even saw that I almost cried, she could feel the moisture rising in the air as I told her about the failed images. So she is going to allow me to extract money from our savings, the savings that we are going to put down on a house with, to buy real lights. Let me say that again. We have a hundred grand in the bank, solely there to buy a house, and because I almost cried after failing at doing perilous photos thw wife is giving me money out of our future home to buy lgihts. Praise Jah.

Hey you gals are really cool. I appreciate the votes, every one counts. Maybe someday we can see these in a magazine.

Sometimes I doubt peoples sincerity when it comes to these photos. Ya know, if you really want to tell me I have a twisted sense of humor and doing photos of my kids like this is a tad sadistic, I would understand. Come on, you know you want to yell at me...
